YAM PORRIDGE RECIPE JUST THE WAY YOU WANT IT...


A meal of yam is one of the popular meals eaten in Nigeria, it's consumed in most homes and sold in most Nigerian eating places.
right here we are going to talk about yam porridge (pottage), one of the famous of all recipes. We also have pepper soup yam and several other recipes of yam. few times we even boil white yam and serve with tomato sauce or palm oil
Yam Pottage which is also known as "ASARO" by the yorubas. yam porridge needs no important introduction, It is

a very famous Nigerian mashed Yam and Tomato stew infused dish. You can either prepare your Asaro – Yam porridge very mushy or you may have it component smooth, I select part as I’m no longer a fan of mushy or puréed foods. You can select to feature vegetable to your Asaro – Yam Porridge or have it without, this recipe suggests you ways to prepare both.


Yam porridge is straightforward and short to prepare. It has this soupy appearance because it is cooked the same manner you prepare your soup by means of adding the substances to the yam.


DIRECTIONS TO PREPARE YAM PORRIDGE

  1. Peel and cut the yam into preferred dice sizes, wash and put in a pot 
  2. Wash and cut the onion and greens into tiny pieces. 
  3. Grind the pepper and debone the smoked fish. 
  4. Add sufficient water to cover the yam cubes and prepare dinner at a medium heat. 
  5. When the yam starts boiling, add the grounded crayfish, habanero pepper, onion, stock cubes, and palm oil. 
  6. Add salt and continue cooking till the yam is soft as preferred. 
  7. When the yam is cooked, add the vegetable and stir thoroughly with a timber spoon until the liquid thickens. Then serve.
